If you're an experienced and passionate UX practitioner, user-centred in your design & strategic thinking, and love nothing more than to bring people together to problem solve and work towards a common goal, then we want to hear from you!
At The User Story, we live and breathe our four values:
They shape everything that we do, the decisions we make and the way we approach our work, and most importantly, the way we treat each other.

Here's what you can expect from the role:
This is a 6-month contract position, with the possibility of turning into a permanent position for the right person, and if we're in the position to do it! Part-time working could be considered for the right person.
You’ll be working on a variety of challenging and interesting initiatives, across a range of different teams, within the ad-tech space. Coming from an established background in user-centred experience design, product ownership or UX consultancy, you’ll be able to jump straight into a project, identify assumptions and research opportunities, and plan your deliverable work alongside diverse product and development teams.
You’ll be part of our small team of UX strategists, designers and researchers, who work directly with clients and will help with the mentoring and development of more junior members of the team. You’ll help decide how our clients' products and services look and behave, provide recommendations for new features, and work with product teams to build valuable, beautiful products for their users.
You’ll be comfortable working with your teammates to help you create and define these experiences, and challenge yourself, the team, and the company to be constantly improving. You're not the kind of person that likes to be handheld - you're independent and want to give everything a try, but understand that good design is born from good collaboration. You’ll want to share your knowledge from other projects and ways of working and relish the chance to learn from others, too.
As you'll be working directly with our clients, you'll be seasoned at stakeholder management. You'll feel comfortable bringing people together, pushing back when required, questioning approaches, leading discussions and evangelising user-centred design ops and processes.
Here’s an overview of your responsibilities:
Here's some of the great benefits you'll have access to:
Plus, as you’ll be working as part of a small team, you’ll have a real opportunity to shape The User Story and the work you do. You’ll even be able to aid the design of our own digital products.
